Ch4, sl st to first ch to form a ring.
Round 1: Ch3 (counts as a tr), 11tr into the ring. Sl st into the blo of the top of the beginning 3ch. (12 sts)
Round 2: Ch3 (counts as a tr), tr into blo of the same stitch. 2tr into the blo of each st around. Sl st into the blo of the beginning ch3. (24 sts)
Round 3: Ch3 (counts as a tr), tr into blo of the same stitch. Tr blo into the next st. (2tr blo, tr blo) around. Sl st to the top of the beginning ch3. (36 sts)
Fasten off. Use this tail end to join to the next free stitch on your third tree rings slice (this is next (to the left of) to the last sl st of row 50. You can do this in whatever way you wish, but I did around 4-5 whip stitches in the same spot. To give more stability, also do 4-5 whip stitches in the next free st along. Weave in both ends of your tree rings slice.
In Cutting
Row 51 (RS): 2tr into the first st of row 50. Tr into each st across, to the last htr of row 50. Tr in this htr and the first sl st on the third tree rings slice. Sl st blo into the sixth and seventh tr of the tree rings slice (remembering the beginning ch3 of the tree rings slice counts as a st). Turn. (117 sts - the slst do not count as sts)
Row 52 (WS): Tr in between the last and second to last tr of row 51. Continue to place the tr in-between the tr sts, rather than in the top of the st. Repeat until 2 sts remain. Skip a st and place 2 tr into the top of the last st. Turn. (117 sts)
Row 53 (RS): Chainless tr. Tr into the same st. Tr in-between the st just worked and the next st. Continue to place the tr in-between the tr sts, rather than in the top of the st, finishing with a tr between the last tr and the sl st into the tree rings slice. Skip a st on the slice, and slst blo into the next 3 sts. Turn. (119 sts - the sl st do not count as sts)
Row 54 (WS): 2dtr into the last st of row 53. (Skip st, dtr into next st, dtr into st just missed) across until 2 sts remain. Dtr, 2dtr into last st. Turn. (121 sts)
Row 55 (RS): Chainless tr. Tr into the same st. Tr in each st across to last dtr. 2tr into this st. Skip a st on the tree rings slice, sl st blo to the next st. (124 sts - including the sl st)
Fasten off.
