This pattern was initially designed when my Mum requested a bag for a wedding to match her outfit with the specific instruction of it being able to fit an A5 service sheet. I rose to the challenge and the Celtic Sun Bag was born.

The outer bag is made first, using Soy yarn, featuring a braided section that is also repeated at the back, followed by an inner bag in cotton. Once the inner bag is crocheted into the outer bag, the strap is worked. The Celtic Sun flap is made separately and sewn in place, secured with a button.

This bag was designed to be made using Soy yarn (roughly equivalent to Aran weight) for the outer bag, and 100% Pima Cotton Aran for the inner bag, both hand-dyed by Adelle at www.veganyarn.co.uk.

The pattern is available to buy here on Ravelry.
